Information

This BLAST module provides an online interface for sequence similarity searches against multiple rice reference genome databases. Users can submit nucleotide or protein sequences in FASTA format and perform BLAST searches using standard BLAST+ programs. User-defined parameters such as E-value cutoff, word size, scoring matrix, and search sensitivity can be adjusted to control alignment stringency. Submitted sequences are queried against selected local BLAST databases, and search results are generated in XML format using BLAST+ command-line tools. BLAST outputs are parsed using Biopython and converted into structured objects for downstream visualization. The result page displays detailed alignment information, including query and subject identifiers, alignment length, identity, E-value, and high-scoring segment pairs (HSPs). Database-specific annotations are additionally provided when available to facilitate biological interpretation.
